Products & services

Eco Materials develops technology and production processes to create an industrial advantage in material recycling. Together with our partners, we design and set up complete recycling facilities, including inbound and outbound logistics. Our production is data-driven and highly automated.

Sorting systems – we produce and deliver machines with AI-optimized sorting, and solutions for removing metals and dust. We have built our own AI architecture that allows for rapid development and implementation of new sorting models. We have sorting models for waste wood ready for implementation, but we can also deliver sorting models for other materials.

Automation – we design and deliver fully automated sorting lines, either by combining our sorting systems with existing machinery, or a complete new sorting line.

Change Management – our team has decades of experience in advisory and project management related to implementing new technology. We help customers with the transition from waste reduction to material recovery since this change is as much about changing organizational mindset as implementing new technology

See the eco materials R&D page for how we have built unique solutions and expertise for material recovery.

Metal Removal

Metal removal is critical in waste wood processing. Our system removes conductive materials, magnetic metal down to 1 mm diameter, and non-magnetic metal down to 2 mm diameter using magnets and high-sensitivity metal detection.

Standard metal detection systems are typically designed for operations where metal contamination is occasional. In waste wood processing, metal occurs continuously and often at high frequency over long shifts. Under these conditions, conventional diverter valves wear quickly and can limit both uptime and sorting precision.

To handle this, we developed our own diverter valve for continuous operation in demanding waste wood applications. It is designed for high switching frequency and mechanical load, enabling accurate metal rejection while reducing unnecessary loss of clean wood.

Sorting Machines

we provide camera-based sorting machines for removing unwanted objects in a material flow.

  • we detect “all” objects that our AI is trained on and that are visible with the current set of sensors
  • we use multiple camera angles that ensure good visibility of objects in the material flow
  • we use multiple light frequencies that improve the visibility of certain elements
  • we remove all unwanted objects from the material flow as long as they are within reasonable physical dimensions

Turn waste wood into high-value raw materials

Our high-precision optical sorting system transforms mixed waste wood into clean, specification-ready raw material for industrial use. The output can be used in metallurgical processes, panel and fibreboard production, biochar production, and soil improvement applications.

Each pass is designed to produce a sorted fraction that meets defined quality requirements for use as a secondary raw material in downstream production processes.

  • Our dual-side imaging technology sorts by material quality, not just by object type, enabling consistent output quality and supporting demanding end-use requirements

We turn complex waste wood streams into a raw material that can go directly into the customer’s production.

Our system gives customers a reliable supply of clean, specification-ready raw material with high capacity, flexible output, and stronger control over quality and economics.

  • High-capacity production with consistent output quality
  • One production line that can supply multiple revenue-generating products
  • Reduced exposure to seasonality and volatile energy markets
    • Cost efficient production – up 80M3 pr hour, pr machine
    • Multiple products from same production line
    • Producing multiple products, not dependent on season and reducing dependency on energy prices
  • Products
    • Metallurgical industry – used as carbon source, or energy source as substitute for fossil carbon
    • Biochar
      • (metallurgical industry; soil improvement; CO2-offset in concrete)
    • Panel boards & Fiber boards
    • Incineration in ovens allowed for incinerating solid biofuels (based on end-of-waste approval)

Capacity pr new plant

  • scalable to process 10–60-ton waste wood pr hour, pr line (we can build bigger, but doubt that is necessary )
  • electrically powered components
  • dimensioned for 5000 operating hours per year
  • area and energy efficient production. Smalest production line requires 120 square meters surface under roof, 8m height
  • 10-ton pr hour set up can be delivered as a mobile solution
  • a new production line is operational 6- 9 months from project start
